All About Terra Dona Skincare, LLC

​The Name

The name Terra Dona is derived from the Latin phrase Terrae Dona (pronounced Ter-ray Dō-na) which means “The earth’s gifts”. All of the precious ingredients we use to craft our skin care products are 100% natural and whole, originating from a variety of plants, organic materials, and flowers from the earth. These natural ingredients are amazingly nutritious and abundant in healing and soothing properties for skin. Thus, they are literally gifts from the earth, which we are able to cultivate and exclusively formulate into our line of luxurious skin care creations. The all-natural composition and high integrity of our products are quite simply and accurately represented with the phrase “The earth’s gifts”, worded beautifully from Latin origin, as Terra Dona.


Ingredients

All of the ingredients used in Terra Dona Skincare products are natural (many of which are organic) and whole materials sourced or extracted from plants or other natural resources available. All of our products are cruelty-free as we do not test them on animals. Additionally, we offer several products containing no animal or animal by-products making them vegan-friendly as well.  Our philosophy is very much that skin care can only be as good as the ingredients used to create them. Our goal is to provide high-quality, nutrient-dense, vitamin-rich, natural skin care that is abundant with skin-loving (i.e. soothing, nourishing, softening, moisturizing, renewing) properties. Using only carefully cultivated, 100% natural ingredients helps ensure this.  Additionally, we use no chemicals, fillers, artificial preservatives, or additives in our products, which are commonly found in commercial skin care products and can compromise their effectiveness.


Miron Violet Glass Packaging

As all of our ingredients are whole and natural, many of which are organic, and none of our products contain artificial preservatives or harmful chemicals often used to extend shelf-life, Terra Dona products need to be thoughtfully preserved and stored to maintain their high quality and integrity. Therefore, we use Miron Violet Glassware to package our products to maximize shelf-life while still preserving quality. Miron Violet Glass is thicker and more durable than standard glass and filters harmful UV light that degrades and deteriorates the potency of ingredients which significantly reduces their quality in a shortened period of time. Miron Violet Glass bottles and jars are specifically constructed to be airtight, which also helps to extend storage life and protect the quality of our products. Miron Violet Glass bottles and jars are aesthetically pleasing with their slick shiny, smooth, black appearance, but most importantly, having our products’ high quality preserved for the longest possible length of time maximizes the benefits you receive from our carefully crafted skin care.

Our Story

My journey to skincare was a long and winding road, as my professional interests were initially rooted in teaching and conducting research in Psychology and Neuroscience.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at The University of Colorado in Boulder, where I was an undergraduate research assistant in a laboratory that investigated the effects exercise has in the recovery rates of patients who suffered from mild traumatic brain injury.  After graduating, I proceeded to attend The University of Vermont where I earned my Master's Degree from the Biobehavioral Program in the Department of Psychological Sciences, where I studied how areas of the brain that regulate fear and anxiety affect behavior. While these subjects remain dear to my heart, it was several years later, that I made the serendipitous discovery of my true passion and calling in life, which is to formulate and create skin care using natural, whole materials and ingredients.  I began experimenting with essential oils, carrier oils, and other natural materials to create various skin care items only to find myself genuinely interested in learning about natural ingredients and all of their potent, powerful, and beneficial properties which help skin.  I grew fascinated with the idea of creating wholesome, healthy, high-quality skin care products.  I felt very grateful and fortunate to have found my passion, and believed that sharing this passion with others is how it would serve a real purpose.
