FEATURED INGREDIENTS
Carrot Root Extract
Carrot Root Extract is rich in vitamins and minerals needed for keeping skin vibrant and healthy. It is part of a group of antioxidants called polyphenols, which are widely known for protecting skin against exposure to UV rays from the sun, which can lead to premature aging and skin damage. Abundant in vitamins A, C, and E and beta carotene, carrot root extract maintains and improves elasticity of skin, keeping it firmer. It is also rich in potassium which is needed to help keep skin moisturized. Its anti-inflammatory characteristics even make it useful for treating various skin conditions such as acne and rashes, and can even help wounds and cuts heal.
Apricot Kernel Oil
This oil, as the name suggests, is derived from the kernel, or pit, of the apricot fruit. Apricot Kernel Oil is high in vitamins E and K as well as antioxidants such as caffeic acid which lead to its many benefits for skin. It is a lightweight oil and easily absorbed by skin and has emollient properties which help to moisturize and exfoliate skin. As a result it may help to relieve dry patches of skin as well as skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. Because of its high antioxidant content, it is helpful with signs of aging, such as reducing the appearance of age spots and wrinkles. It also tightens and tones skin, keeping it firmer and more radiant. Additionally, Apricot Kernel Oil effectively reduces inflammation that results from acne flare-up, when applied directly to the effected area.
Calendula Oil
Calendula Oil is distilled from the flower tops of Marigold flowers. In addition to being an effective moisturizer and improving the firmness of skin, it contains an abundance of healing characteristics as well. It is chalked full of flavanoids and linoleic acid making for potent anti-inflammatory properties that help fight free radicals (harmful molecules from pollution, cigarette smoke, etc that rob your cells of oxygen and cause them to break down faster) and soothe swelling that often accompanies skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and dermititis. Furthermore, the benefits of Calendula Oil include having antimicrobial and antiseptic characterisitics that help heal cuts and wounds by promoting the increase of blood flow and oxygen to those areas and grow new tissues.
St. John‘s Wort
This plant originated in Europe and the lore is that it was named after St. John the Baptist because it bloomed around his birthday (the word “wort“ means plant in Old English). Most commonly associated with helping treat symptoms of depression and anxiety, St. John‘s Wort also has numerous benefits for soothing and healing skin. It is great for moisturizing the skin and is particularly soothing for sensitive skin. It is very useful in treating wounds and burns on skin as well due to being rich in flavanoids, and through its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties, promotes blood flow to areas of skin that have been damaged, encouraging quicker healing and reducing irritation and inflammation that results from various skin conditions. Consequently, having all of these qualities, using St. John‘s Wort consistently has been shown to further benefit skin by reducing fine lines, improving firmness, and keeping skin clear.
